It’s been 19 years to the day that The Undertaker first appeared in the WWE. It’s been 19 years of taking souls and championships (although the championship reigns could have all been a bit longer… i’m just sayin’) and The Undertaker is still going out there and giving us some great matches.
His longevity, and loyalty, to the WWE has been amazing. As an Undertaker fan myself, I can’t express how grateful I am to have been able to watch the Undertaker all of these years.
To watch any professional wrestler for any number of years is great, but to see the Deadman, the Phenom for almost two decades has been incredible. The matches he’s given us, like the amazing match against Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 25 or the countless battles with Kane and Mankind; the moments that he’s given us, like sacrificing Stone Cold Steve Austin on his symbol on Raw and of course, the jobs he’s done to guys like John Cena, Jeff Hardy and Edge – all wonderful.
Not only is it the anniversary of the Undertaker’s 1990 Survivor Series debut, but it’s also the night when The Undertaker is going to face Chris Jericho and the Big Show in a Triple Threat match; and there is no doubt in my mind that he will be leaving Survivor Series still the World Heavyweight Champion. How appropriate for such an occasion.
It isn’t just the pleasure that us fans get from watching the Undertaker, it’s the wisdom and advice he has to offer the young Superstars of tomorrow that makes him the one and only, true Phenom of the WWE.
RESPECT THE UNDERTAKER!
